About the Speed Striking Challenge
The Speed Striking Challenge is a remote contest designed to entertain and uplift you, the viewer or student of Eskrima, while we're all stuck at home during the pandemic.
Competitors appear live from their homes via Zoom, striking a bag or tyre dummy with traditional eskrima sticks. They must try to land the greatest number of strikes in timed rounds of 10 seconds and 30 seconds.
An independent adjudicator assesses the competitors' results via slow-motion video replay.
Strikes are measured in terms of speed (strike rate per second) and assessed on power, accuracy and successful targeting of multiple areas of the body.
We have followers from many countries. This is a way to connect everybody in the spirit of FMA - it serves as both an educational platform and a lot of fun. 100% of funds raised are going to our instructors in the Philippines to help them get through this global pandemic crisis.
